Mrs. Frank Hardy

This blog is dedicated to my love of the Nancy Drew computer games made by Her Interactive!

My name is Emily and I am 22 years old.

I go to the University of North Florida where I am majoring in English with minors in Creative Writing and Film Studies.

I started with Secrets can Kill when I was little and I haven't stopped playing the games since.

casual reminder that HER actively reads the message boards threads, and our tumblrs to find out what we (the fandom!) think about these games. What’s more, they even implement many of our requests! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I’m so grateful to everyone at HeR for being so involved with their fanbase.

I like knowing they care about me ☺️😘😁

Personally, I just don’t agree with all this “showing Sonny Joon ruins his character” stuff because I mean, HER created him. You know, it’s not like when they were going to show Nancy’s mom and we were all like, shit that’s canon as of like 80 years ago be careful. This is their character. They can do what they want and I’m gonna trust them on this one.

I still think Her has their own canon and can do whatever they want with their versions of the characters in general.

It is NOT okay to be obese.
Before anyone rages at me, let me explain.
I understand that not everyone is going to be ideally thin, it is okay to be a bit above weight, there is nothing wrong with that. But when it comes to the point where it is legitimately obesity, it is not okay. The idea here on tumblr is that all shapes and sizes are beautiful and you’re all perfect. I get why this is said, and I understand and love that a majority of tumblr is supporting strangers around the world and helping them love themselves. That is okay and I agree with that, but what I don’t agree with is telling OBESE people that they are perfect just the way they are. Obesity is a serious problem and it is not okay to sit back and act like everything is okay with being obese because it’s not. I’m not coming from an aesthetic viewpoint on this either, I’m coming from a medical viewpoint. It is not healthy to be obese and it’s not okay to act like everything is fine, because it’s not.

Hooooooooly shit back the fuck up.
This is NOT about what is or isn’t healthy. Fuck, it’s not healthy to drink energy drinks on a regular basis, it’s not healthy to ingest a lot of chemicals, artificial sweeteners, hormones in our milk, fillers in our meat. Smoking isn’t healthy. Candy isn’t healthy.
Nobody needs to be told that morbid obesity isn’t healthy. Obesity isn’t caused by people not understanding that it isn’t healthy. Obesity is a direct result of poverty, of stress eating, of not having options. It is circumstantial, often unavoidable, and a colossal undertaking (mentally, emotionally, physically, financially) to change and maintain that change.
What this is about is a culture that treats obese people like animals, like clowns, like they are undeserving of love, self-esteem, basic human rights and respect. This is about people feeling entitled to stare, to take pictures, to actively and openly insult and discriminate against obese people.
This is about you understanding that other people’s bodies are their own, and you don’t have room to lecture them or inany way rain on their parade, because it’s none of your goddamn business. They have a whole society getting on their case all day, every day. If they want to feel good about themselves despite that onslaught, and if god forbid someone else wants to encourage them or compliment them, and you feel the need to take a steaming dump on that, kindly sit the fuck down forever.

Knowing that he wouldn’t be there for her wedding, a terminally ill father walked his 11-year-old down the ‘aisle’ years early with the pastor sweetly pronouncing them ‘daddy and daughter’.
